I actually frequent Rice House II. It is my new go to place for Chinese. A few years ago the local Chinese takeout near my house closed and opened under new ownership. I haven't been too thrilled about the food there so I'm glad I found rice House. I live in Godfrey Illinois so it's a little bit more of a drive to get to North County, but well worth the drive. The food is excellent, and the service is good as well.
Self-described as Asian Fusion, the Rice House provides standard Chinese fare with a few twists. Jambalaya Fried Rice and Stir Fried Noodles with ham, bacon, or duck are examples. Duck as whole, half, or by the piece is an entree item. Reasonable prices and value meals are standard here. I simply wanted the St. Louis Chinese staple, a St. Paul sandwich. I could get a regular or Ultimate, which is an upgrade on Texas toast. I chose the regular since I toss the high carb bread. It came up quickly despite other in-house and take-out orders ahead of me. The sandwich satisfied with lots of pork pieces, a crispy coating, and fluffy egg foo yung center. I think it would have succeeded better with half the gooey mayo. These sandwiches usually have lettuce, dill pickles, onion, and perhaps a tomato slice. At the Rice House you get onions pieces and pickles.
I like this place for lunch. It's simple Asian fare but prepared well. Portions were ample, service was good and the ambience is working class.
The food is always amazing!! The service is quick and customer service is top notch!!
I live in atl and when I'm in stl I'm going out my way to go to Rice Hose so fire! Food never disappoints fried rice is amazing lol
